Our Queen is the lovely, Joyce Cuddyer! We can always count on Joyce for a good laugh. Professionally, Joyce serves our community at the elementary school down the street. We are in awe of how much energy, determination and focus she brings in the evenings after a long day of work! Joyce’s fitness journey and transformation is one that she is always so willing to share. Just ask her, she’ll tell you all about it!  We are proud and grateful she continues to choose CJP as her gym. CONGRATULATIONS JOYCE!

What brought you to East Boston?

I was born in East Boston.

What drew you to CrossFit?

The reason I joined CrossFit was the fact that I wanted to get healthy and nbe pushed to my full potential. It also got me to make new friends.

What was your expectation on your first day at CJP? How has your perception changed since that day?

I was just wanting the attention I needed to get the best workout and I got that and more! My perception is that no doubt every time I go there I get all the help, the love, the kindness, I need to get where I am today!

Wat keeps you coming back to CJP?

I keep coming back because I enjoy the workouts, the people and also the results I am seeing. And it gives me the confidence I need.

Biggest improvements/struggles with CrossFit?

Biggest improvements were the fact I didn’t let anything or anyone stop me from doing what I had to do physically and mentally. I never give up. If I don’t do so well I just try better next time. My coaches are there for me. I can be pain in the butt, but they don’t make me feel that I can’t address them.

The biggest struggle getting the mental hurdle of being the oldest one there. And realizing I can keep up with the youngins. And be myself. God bless the CrossFit staff and my CrossFit friends. So glad to be one of the best CrossFit programs around!

If you could create your own WOD, what movements would you use?

Deadlifts. Cleans.  Box Jumps.

Meat head nickname (with explanation)?

I don’t really have one!  I need help, maybe someone can come up with something that’s not too offensive.

If you were to encourage someone on the fence of joining the CJP community, what would you say?

I would say don’t hesitate, get ready for the best of the best! You will never regret it. Go for it!

We are grateful Joyce has trusted us with her health and fitness journey! Re’Joyce’ the holidays are here! 🙂
