What brought you to East Boston?
I was brought to East Boston because of the T I take to get to school. Also I was looking for a gym close to my new apartment. CJP was right where I needed it to be.

What drew you to CrossFit?
I was brought to CrossFit because of the functionality it provides for every challenge life versus just bodybuilding or power lifting. CrossFit forces you to break through mental barriers and past what you thought you physical or mental limit was.

What was your expectation on your first day at CJP? How has your perception changed since that day?
I don’t think I had any expectation on the first day. I attended open gym for the first 5 months of my training so it slowly brought me into the CJP family.

What keeps you coming back to CJP?
Well the distance from my apartment sure doesn’t hurt. But mainly the community it provides keeps me coming back.

What are some of the changes you have experienced in your physical appearance, strength and/or body composition? How have you used this outside of the gym?
My physical strength and stamina or back to what is, or even better now, than when in was in the military. I haven’t had to use it much yet, but when I go back to the military after school I know what I’ve learned will be used every day.

Biggest improvements/struggles with CrossFit?
Biggest struggles would be gymnastics and double unders. Funny though, my biggest improvements would also be gymnastics and double unders. My experience for both was zero when I came to CJP, to I guess I’ve only improved lol If you could create your own WOD, what movements would you use? Movements for a workout would definitely include front squats. Probably box jumps and cal row.

Meat head nickname (with explanation)?
I’ve never had a meat head nickname that I can remember. I was once called “A bull in a China Shop” by my first Squad Leader because I was a big boy and tended to run straight in and break everything.

If you were to encourage someone on the fence of joining the CJP community, what would you say?
If someone was on the fence, I would tell them that they can either continue to sit there and do nothing or join a gym that pushes you to be better, improve your health and abilities and make some great friends.

Long Live King Andrew! 🙂
