What brought you to East Boston?
My lovely wife. I moved in with her when we were dating back in 2015.

What drew you to CrossFit?
I am always looking to challenge myself mentally and physically and I feel that Crossfit allows me to do that. And the community that takes part in Crossfit at Jeffries Point is amazing. Everyone is so nice and motivated. It is great to spend time with people that care about their well being, health and physical fitness. Crossfit is also a stress relief activity for me. Work is very stressful.

What was your expectation on your first day at CJP? How has your perception changed since that day?
My first day was fun but intimidating. I quickly realized how out of shape I was and how much I had to learn. Now I have learned a lot more, and my body has responded well to the stimulus of the workouts. I feel it is an ongoing journey and you will always experience new challenges.

What keeps you coming back to CJP?
I love the workouts, the community and the fact that you show up, the workout is pre set and you plug and chug.

What are some of the changes you have experienced in your physical appearance, strength and/or body composition. How have you used this outside of the gym?
I have become more flexible, gained more muscle, lost fast and my strength and endurance has been at an all time high. I play Ice Hockey in a mens league. My strength, flexibility and endurance improvements show when I am on the ice.

Biggest improvements/struggles with CrossFit?
Biggest improvements have been my barbell work, (cleans, power cleans, squat cleans and snatches), my pulling work also (muscle ups, pull ups, rig work). My struggles are pistols, toes to bar and double unders. I have trouble balancing and with the timing. But I will try harder to learn them.

If you could create your own WOD, what movements would you use?
15 Calorie Row, 15 Wall Balls, 2 muscle ups (10 pull ups/ring rows), 800m run, AMRAP (25 minutes)

Meat head nickname (with explanation)?
“Stormbreaker” – From my favorite movie – Thors new battle ax in The Avengers Infinity War

If you were to encourage someone on the fence of joining the CJP community, what would you say?
I would tell them if you are looking to get in better shape and be around a great group of people who have the same goals, join CJP. We help each other out every step of the way.

Long Live King Nick! 🙂
