🌟 EastieFit All-Star – Anya Demko: Strength in Simplicity and Consistency At EastieFit, we celebrate athletes who lead by example—through consistency, connection, and grit. This June, we’re proud to spotlight Anya Demko as our EastieFit All-Star! Anya has been a dedicated part of the EastieFit family for the past two years, and her journey is a powerful reminder that progress doesn’t have to be flashy—it just has to be consistent. 🚐 From the Road to the Rig Before joining EastieFit, Anya spent seven years living full-time out of a van, working in construction and farming across the country. Her motto during that time? "I don’t work out; I work outside." That lifestyle taught her the value of functional fitness, movement with purpose, and staying active no matter your environment. She also gives a big shout-out to “everyone working out solo while living out of vehicles”—a testament to the resilience and creativity of anyone chasing health outside the traditional gym setting. 🧠 Mental Strength: “You Don’t Have to Succeed—But You Do Have to Try” One of the reasons Anya stands out is her mindset. She says: “Be easy on yourself and remember it isn’t always a linear journey. Sometimes we fall back.” For Anya, EastieFit provided a space where falling back didn’t mean failure—it meant showing up anyway. And that’s been her approach since day one. πŸ₯— Healthy Habits: Morning Smoothies & Mental Anchors Nutrition-wise, Anya keeps it simple and sustainable. Her secret weapon? Morning smoothies. It’s a small ritual with a big impact that helps her stay energized and on track. When it comes to movement, she follows her own golden rule: “You can do ten minutes of anything. Keep it simple, keep it short, but keep doing it.” πŸ’ͺ Favorite Training Days Anya is all about medium-weight, high-rep lifting workouts—challenging enough to feel strong, but sustainable over time. And while she’ll always love bodyweight endurance workouts, it’s the intensity of the EastieFit classes that pushes her further: “I wouldn’t push myself like this on my own. The workouts are intense, but I feel stronger every time I show up.” ❀️ The Power of Community Above all, Anya credits the EastieFit community for keeping her motivated: “It’s a lot easier to do things when you don’t want to do them if you have other people to do them with.” Whether it’s grinding through a long WOD or just checking in with a workout buddy, the connection she feels at EastieFit is her anchor. πŸ’™ Core Value Alignment Anya embodies all of EastieFit’s values: Humble – She shows up without ego and leads by example. Resilient – Her life on the road taught her how to push through any challenge. Connected – She lifts herself up by lifting others up too. Consistent – She trains through every season of life, even when it’s hard. πŸ† Final Words from Anya “You don’t need to have the perfect plan. Just keep showing up. That’s where the real strength is.” Thank you, Anya, for reminding us that success comes from staying grounded in movement, anchored in community, and driven by consistency. πŸ“ˆ Want to learn how to build consistency like Anya? Join us at EastieFit and become part of a fitness community that celebrates every step of the journey. #EastieFitAllStar #StrongerTogether #FunctionalFitness #CrossFitEastBoston #EastieStrong #ConsistencyIsKey

β˜€οΈ Strong Families, Strong Summer: 3 Fun Ways to Stay Active Together in East Boston Summer in East Boston means longer days, warmer weather, and the perfect opportunity to move, sweat, and bond as a family. At EastieFit, we believe that fitness is a family affair—because building healthy habits starts at home. Here are 3 simple and fun family fitness ideas to help you stay connected and active all summer long: 1️⃣ Family AMRAP at Constitution Beach πŸ–οΈ What to do: Set a 12-minute timer and cycle through: 10 squats 10 push-ups (or high fives) 10 jumping jacks 100-meter run (or skip/lunge walk) Why it works: This quick AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible) is kid-friendly, modifiable, and gets everyone’s heart rate up—right next to the ocean breeze! Bonus: Pack a healthy snack and enjoy a post-workout picnic. 2️⃣ Eastie Playground WOD Challenge πŸ› Visit your local playground (Piers Park or LoPresti are great options!) and turn it into your gym. Your Family WOD: 5 rounds for time: 5 monkey bar swings (or hanging hold) 10 step-ups on a bench 15 seconds plank hold (kids can try side planks too!) Sprint to the slide and back Why it works: Playgrounds naturally encourage movement and fun. This WOD is creative and turns “play time” into a shared fitness experience. 3️⃣ Walk & Talk Sunset Strolls πŸŒ‡ After dinner, hit the East Boston Greenway or Harborwalk for a family walk. Add movement with fun prompts: Do 5 lunges at every bench Hop on one foot for 10 steps Ask each other questions (What made you smile today? What was your favorite part of the weekend?) Why it works: Walking improves digestion, reduces stress, and gives you a chance to connect as a family—no phones, no screens, just fresh air and movement. 🌟 EastieFit Core Values in Action: Connected: Build deeper relationships through shared activities. Consistent: Move every day, even in small ways. Humble: Celebrate small wins and enjoy the journey. Resilient: Show up for each other and keep moving, no matter the pace. πŸ’¬ Ready to Start? We’d love to hear how your family is staying active this summer! Share your favorite activities with us at @geteastiefit and tag #EastieFitFamily. And remember—when families move together, they grow stronger together. πŸ’™

I’ve coached hundreds of athletes through these moments—and I can’t wait to coach YOU through yours. Let’s lift heavy and lift smart, – Coach Javy

At EastieFit, we’re always looking for ways to help our athletes train smarter, recover better, and build lifelong strength. That’s why we’re excited to launch a new offering made just for you: EastieFit Yoga – starting Saturday, June 14 at 7:30am. This isn’t your average yoga class. Led by Kori Ryan—a 200-hour certified instructor, CrossFitter, and performance coach—this class is designed to support the specific mobility, recovery, and mental needs of CrossFit athletes. Whether you’re an early-morning warrior or coming off a heavy training week, these sessions will help you build resilience through improved mobility, connective tissue care, and mental recovery. πŸ‹οΈ‍♀️ Why Yoga for CrossFit? 1. Improved Mobility = Better Performance CrossFit demands range of motion—think overhead squats, deep lunges, and fast transitions. Yoga supports that with targeted stretches that reduce restriction in hips, shoulders, ankles, and spine. 2. Injury Prevention Through Recovery The connective tissues (fascia, tendons, ligaments) often go overlooked. Yoga builds resilience in these areas through slow, intentional movements—especially in yin-inspired sequences. 3. Mental Resilience & Focus Kori’s background in clinical psychology and performance coaching means these sessions go beyond the physical. You’ll leave each class feeling more grounded, focused, and connected—on and off the mat. πŸ™‹‍♀️ Meet Your Coach: Kori Ryan Kori is no stranger to the EastieFit community. She’s been training with us for two years and brings a deep understanding of how CrossFit athletes move (and what holds them back). Certified through The Point School of Yoga here in East Boston, Kori blends vinyasa and yin yoga to give your body exactly what it needs. She also serves as a human services professor and life/performance coach—so every class bridges the physical with the psychological. It’s not just about flexibility; it’s about showing up fully—body, mind, and spirit. πŸ“… Class Details When: Saturdays at 7:30am — starting June 14 Where: EastieFit Who: Open to all members and guests What to Bring: A yoga mat, water, and an open mind Drop-In Price: $35 per class Registration: Pre-registration is required πŸ‘‰ Reserve your spot here ✨ EAT • TRAIN • SLEEP • BREATHE This class fits perfectly into our EastieFit core habits: EAT: Fuel your body to recover from intense training. TRAIN: Supplement your lifting and metcons with movement that supports joint health. SLEEP: Wind down your nervous system, reduce stress, and sleep deeper. BREATHE: Mindful breathing is built into every class—anchoring your focus and calming your body. πŸ’™ Core Values in Motion At EastieFit, we believe in being: Humble: We all start somewhere. Yoga invites us to meet ourselves where we are. Resilient: Flexibility and recovery are the keys to showing up again tomorrow. Connected: Share space, breath, and growth with your community. Consistent: Just like barbell progress, mobility builds over time—show up and trust the process. 🎯 Ready to Begin? Your body works hard. Give it the recovery it deserves. Doing Murph this Memorial Day in Boston? Discover expert tips from EastieFit—your East Boston CrossFit gym—for hydration, mobility, pacing, and recovery. Show up strong, stay resilient, and thrive through Murph. πŸ‹οΈ‍♂️ Your Complete Murph Survival Guide (East Boston Edition) Memorial Day is almost here, and that means one thing at EastieFit: it’s time for Murph, one of the most iconic and meaningful CrossFit Hero WODs of the year. Whether this is your first time or your fifth, preparing the right way makes all the difference. Here’s how to get ready, recover smart, and crush your Murph workout with confidence. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ What Is Murph and Why Do We Do It? Murph is a Hero WOD (Workout of the Day) named after Lt. Michael P. Murphy, a Navy SEAL who gave his life in service to our country. Every Memorial Day, CrossFit gyms across the world—including here in East Boston—do this workout to honor his legacy. The classic Murph workout: 1 mile run 100 pull-ups 200 push-ups 300 air squats 1 mile run (With or without a weighted vest. Scaled options available.) This workout is about more than fitness—it’s about grit, gratitude, and community. At EastieFit, we take Murph seriously—not to compete, but to show up humbly, move with purpose, and grow stronger as a team. 🧘 Daily Mobility Tips for Murph (Just 2 Minutes!) Getting through 200 push-ups and 300 squats pain-free takes preparation. But don’t worry—we’re not asking you to stretch for 30 minutes a day. Here’s your game plan: Start with just 2 minutes a day Choose low-friction mobility drills like pigeon stretch, couch stretch, or shoulder pass-throughs Target areas: hips, hamstrings, shoulders, calves, wrists, and lats Even a little mobility can dramatically reduce your risk of soreness and injury—especially in long bodyweight workouts like Murph. This prep reflects our core values at EastieFit: Stay humble by caring for your body Stay resilient through consistent action Stay connected by sharing a tip or stretch with a friend Stay consistent—because showing up daily matters πŸ’§ How to Hydrate for Murph Like a Pro If you’re doing Murph in Boston weather, hydration matters. Here’s how to prepare: Your Murph hydration strategy: Start now: Drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily Use electrolytes—LMNT is available at EastieFit to support hydration, energy, and recovery Avoid chugging water at night—spread it out during the day On Murph morning, drink 8–12 oz with LMNT as soon as you wake up Proper hydration boosts endurance, prevents muscle cramps, and shortens recovery time—all essentials for high-intensity functional training. 🧠 Pacing Strategy: Don’t Burn Out Early Murph is a mental game just as much as a physical one. The best athletes at EastieFit don’t go out blazing—they move with control, intention, and community. Pacing tips for the Murph workout: Use the Cindy format: 20 rounds of 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 squats Break up push-ups early (6–4 or 4–3–3) to avoid burnout First mile: treat it as a warm-up Last mile: earn it and finish with pride Scale if needed: jumping pull-ups, incline push-ups, or Half Murph (800m runs + 50/100/150 reps) Scaling is not quitting—it’s being smart and staying in the game. At EastieFit, we encourage every athlete to modify as needed and support one another no matter how the reps are completed. πŸ”₯ What to Expect at EastieFit’s Memorial Day Murph πŸ“ Where: EastieFit – your neighborhood CrossFit gym in East Boston πŸ“… When: Monday, May 26th ⏰ Class Times: 8:30 AM & 10:00 AM πŸ” Post-WOD Potluck: Bring your favorite food or drink and hang out with the community πŸ“‹ Sign up to bring something: [Potluck Spreadsheet Link] This is more than a workout—it’s our summer kickoff, our moment to honor sacrifice, and one of the most powerful community fitness events of the year. 🧭 Final Tips: How to Thrive Through Murph Start each day with 2 minutes of mobility Stay hydrated and include electrolytes like LMNT Pace your reps and runs with intention Scale where needed to preserve quality movement Most of all—show up Whether you're training for CrossFit, HYROX, or life itself—Murph is your test and your teacher. We’ll be here with the grill hot and the community strong. See you on May 26. Let’s make it meaningful.

After joining EastieFit, a community-focused CrossFit gym in East Boston, in February 2024, Amanda Tritto didn’t just find a gym — she found a local fitness family that fuels her goals, her joy, and her commitment to long-term wellness. Now, just one year later, she’s earned her spot as EastieFit’s February 2025 All-Star! πŸŽ‰ What brought her through our doors? Location, yes — she lives just a minute’s walk away — but more importantly, Amanda was looking for a gym that would help her stay consistent with her fitness routine. And it worked. Milestones Worth Celebrating Amanda’s training results speak for themselves: 229 lb Deadlift PR — a big win after missing 226 lbs just one month earlier πŸ”₯ First-ever Toes-to-Bar — thanks to personalized coaching support from Cristian πŸ’ͺ Progress like this comes from showing up, working hard, and trusting your coaches — even when you think you can’t do something. Amanda proves you can. Community > Solo Workouts Amanda’s motivation comes from connection: “I love to exercise, but I really thrive on being part of a community where we go through it together.” Whether she’s tired or just not feeling it, knowing her EastieFit family and a coach who truly sees her will be there makes all the difference. For Amanda, group fitness classes in East Boston provide the accountability and energy she needs. Eat to Perform, Not to Restrict While training comes naturally for Amanda, she’s recently leaned into the Eat habit: Targeting 115–130g of protein daily πŸ₯© Sticking to a calorie goal of 1,900/day Lost 10 pounds in 8 weeks without restricting food groups πŸš€ “Crash diets never work for me — focusing on protein and portion sizes might be my magic combination.” This nutrition shift has helped Amanda feel stronger, perform better, and maintain a healthy relationship with food — a great example of high-protein nutrition for women balancing family and fitness. Core Value in Action: Connected Amanda lives and breathes the Connected value: “East Boston is so special to me. I grew up here, raised my kids here, teach here, and play sports here. It only made sense to switch to a gym in the city I love.” She credits fellow athlete Theresa for introducing her to EastieFit — and hasn’t looked back. Advice from Amanda For those just getting started or feeling unsure: “CrossFit sounds so intimidating — I was nervous to try it — but everyone is just there to better themselves. You can go at your own pace without worrying about keeping up.” Her top reminder: The more you stick to it, the easier it becomes. “I see people my age who struggle to move. I don’t want to lose the ability to move well, so I stay consistent!” Her journey shows that staying active as a busy mom in East Boston is possible with the right support system. Favorite Workouts & Class Vibes Amanda’s heart belongs to the 4:15 PM crew, where many of Eastie’s teachers gather after school. She loves every coach, every class, and the special energy that comes from shared effort and fun CrossFit workouts. “The coaches always make sure I push myself, even on days I don’t want to. Without that support, I’d slack off!” Beyond the Gym Outside the gym, Amanda is a proud member of a true Millennial Disney family. Her fun fact? “If you ever need tips about Disney World, feel free to ask me!” 🏰✨ Final Words Amanda, your balance of discipline, joy, and connection is a perfect example of what EastieFit stands for. You’ve shown that real progress comes from being consistent, being coachable, and being part of something bigger than yourself. πŸŽ‰ Congratulations on being our February All-Star — we’re proud to have you in this community. πŸš€ Want to be next? Keep showing up, keep trusting the process, and you just might be the next East Boston CrossFit All-Star!

Strong in Every Season: Kathleen Patron’s EastieFit Journey Through Motherhood and Movement At EastieFit, we celebrate athletes who lead with grit, heart, and unwavering commitment—and no one embodies that better than Kathleen Patron. A proud member of EastieFit since July 2017, Kathleen joined the community just after moving to East Boston with her husband Ricardo. What started as a search for a gym quickly became something more: a place to grow, connect, and thrive through every chapter of life—including two pregnancies, postpartum recovery, and everything in between. “I’ve been fortunate to experience several seasons of fitness at EastieFit, and I’m proud of the milestones that have come with each one.” Milestones, Motherhood & Movement In the beginning, Kathleen focused on skill-building—conquering her first pull-up, handstand push-ups, and hitting barbell PRs. But soon, she encountered a new kind of challenge: navigating her first pregnancy with her son, Rafa. “I stayed active right up until the day before I went to the hospital, and that felt like a major personal victory.” Postpartum recovery brought its own lessons in patience, rebuilding, and grace. Staying consistent while learning to be a new parent took a different kind of strength. And now, during her second pregnancy, Kathleen continues to train—8 months pregnant and still showing up. “Some days the PR is just getting through the warm-up. But I’m still here. I’m still moving.” The Anchor That Grounds Her Through every season, one thing has stayed constant for Kathleen: movement. It’s more than a physical outlet—it's a source of mental clarity and emotional strength. “Movement has always been my anchor—it keeps me grounded and mentally healthy no matter what life looks like.” After undergoing a C-section with her first child, Kathleen credits her quick recovery to staying active. That experience continues to fuel her motivation. “My nurses were shocked at how quickly I was up and moving. That sticks with me—especially on tough days.” Eat. Train. Sleep. Show Up. While all three EastieFit habits—EAT, TRAIN, SLEEP—have been vital at different times, training has made the biggest impact on her health and performance. “No matter what else is going on, I’ve made a habit of showing up. Even when I don’t feel like it, I remind myself that I’ll almost never regret going—but I will regret skipping.” Her strategy? Just keep showing up. What Keeps Her Consistent Kathleen says the magic behind her consistency is simple: the EastieFit community. “It’s the people that make it stick over the long haul. I’m so grateful for Javy, Sandy, the coaches, and my workout buddies who help me get out the door—even when I’d rather not.” She especially loves showing up for a long workout with pull-ups, handstand push-ups, or heavy lifting—or all three in one! “Once I’m there, I feel stronger just by being in the room.” Advice for Other Athletes (Especially Moms!) “Start by showing up—and keep showing up. I promise you won’t regret it.” Whether you’re in the early days of fitness or navigating a season of parenthood, Kathleen encourages everyone to prioritize movement. “Even if it’s just a little movement, it makes everything else feel more manageable—physically, mentally, and emotionally.” Outside the Gym When she’s not lifting or parenting, Kathleen loves surfing—and says her training at EastieFit has helped her become a stronger, more confident surfer. “From core strength to endurance, it all translates. If you haven’t tried New England surfing—please do!” πŸ‹οΈ‍♀️ Kathleen, thank you for reminding us that strength comes in many forms—and that consistency is its own kind of superpower. You inspire us with your resilience, your warmth, and your unwavering commitment to yourself and your community. Happy Mother’s Day, and congratulations on being our EastieFit All-Star of the Month! πŸ’™
