EastieFit Open Nights are BACK starting February 17, 2023. This is our way to make the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games Open (click here to watch a short video explanation) accessible and fun for our whole community. Athletes of all ages, body types, and ability levels will have an opportunity to challenge themselves over a three-week period. The EastieFit Open will include the same 4 versions for the workout as the CrossFit Open: Rx’d, Scaled, Foundations, or Adaptive. There’s something for everyone. Choose which path is right for you! The EastieFit Open Nights will be a team-based competition. Teams will be led by one or two Athletes who will serve as Captains. The winning team will have bragging rights and a EastieFit Open Nights Cup displayed at the gym. Most athletes should participate. Do not miss out! Our goal for the EastieFit Open Nights is to make it fun and bring our community closer together! Here are all the details: Registration Two Registrations Options - We encourage you to sign up for both! Register for EastieFit Open Nights to have fun and friendly team-based competition with our community. Cost is $20 (paid to EastieFit, not Crossfit, Inc.). (When you sign up, register under our affiliate name: "Eastie CrossFit") The Draft Each Captain will have the opportunity to pick their Athletes in a draft format. Every Athlete who registers for the EastieFit Open Nights will have a team. We encourage all Athletes to register for both the EastieFit Open Nights and the NOBULL CrossFit Open. That way you can see how you stack up against other Athletes around the world and friends and co-workers from other CrossFit affiliates. Workouts Each workout is released Thursday evening at 8:00p. All of the workouts need to be validated by a judge. You have three options to complete the workouts. Option 1: Complete the workout on Fridays during EastieFit Open Night with your team - the most fun option! Option 2: Complete the Open Workout during normal class hours on Fridays (6AM, 7AM and 9AM). Option 3: Complete the Open Workout during Open Gym (Saturday 10:30AM to 12:30PM). EastieFit Open Nights will begin Friday Nights at 5:30PM until about 7:30PM or 8:00PM. Athletes will pair up with another for scoring and judging purposes. Athletes will sign up for heats when they arrive at the gym on Friday to perform the workout and to judge another athlete. After all athletes are done with their workout, everyone is welcome to bring drinks and share food with others to celebrate our accomplishments. EastieFit Open Nights Dates: 23.1- February 17 23.2- February 24 23.3- March 3 Scoring: Your team will compete against the other teams and will be awarded points based on the following three scoring parameters: 1. Performance: Rx'd, Scaled, Foundations, or Adaptive 1st - 5 2nd - 4 3rd - 3 4th - 2 5th - 1 Note: Your first score on the workout is what counts for performance points. Athletes are welcome to repeat the workout but the score that counts for Open Nights is the first one. Honestly, I was thinking it was going to be like the other CrossFit boxes I had been to before CJP. I thought I wasn’t going to last and that my first class was going to be a try out. I was surprised by how much commitment and effort the coaches put into each of us to make us better, a month try out turned out to be 3 years of continuous work. What started as a couple days a week turned out to be a life time commitment.
I was brought to CrossFit because of the functionality it provides for every challenge life versus just bodybuilding or power lifting. CrossFit forces you to break through mental barriers and past what you thought you physical or mental limit was.
We have something at CJP that I see and appreciate at every CrossFit gym I’ve ever vistied: a community of capable, caring judges and athletes of all shapes and sizes united under one goal of helping each other to get as fit as possible. That was my expectation when I showed up here on Day One (June 2015), and that perception hasn’t changed at all in the four years since.
